Fortune 500 Companies Speak Out on Early Learning and Afterschool Programs

Thirty-two major corporations employing 2.5 million in 50 states have created Corporate Voices for Working Families (www.cvworkingfamilies.org), a non-partisan corporate membership organization to inform public and private sector policy to support and strengthen American working families.

Corporate Voices members include Abbott Laboratories, Ceridian, CVS, Johnson and Johnson, Marriott International, Pfizer, Texas Instruments, and United Parcel Service.

Thursday, November 21, Corporate Voices will sponsor a Town Hall meeting at Boston College featuring Boston Mayor Thomas P. Menino, corporate leaders, foundation representatives, educational experts and nonprofit organizations to discuss after-school issues.  The group will issue its first Background Brief: Early Learning and After School.

A national audio press conference will be held Tuesday, November 19 to discuss the formation of the organization, the Boston Town Hall meeting and the first focus of the organization on early learning and after school care.
