THE CHALLENGES WORKING FAMILIES FACE, on a day-to-day basis, represent a very high cost to the business bottom line. Because of this understanding and to reduce these costs, American corporations have been investing in supporting their working families for nearly two decades. Much has been accomplished and much has been learned. Investments in working family support strategies have consistently shown an increase in workforce retention, productivity and loyalty. However, businesses have also learned that despite the investment, they cannot address the issues alone.

SIGNIFICANT NEW ACTION IS REQUIRED. Our mission is to bring business leaders, corporate perspectives and working-family expertise to the table with policymakers and activists to develop, share and achieve solutions. We believe that the business case is clear but has not been clearly articulated in federal or state policy discussions and that Corporate Voices will add a much-needed dimension to such discussions.

CORPORATE VOICES IS COMMITTED to working with our corporate members to increase the base of knowledge and commitment within the corporation and within the wider community with policymakers and partners from the non-profit sector to:

  • Educate and engage corporate leaders in promoting community policy solutions for working families.
  • Speak with one voice, participate in dialogue with other sectors, leverage the power of the private sector and serve as a bridge for better understanding between sectors.
  • Provide information and public education on the policies for working families that both increase productivity for businesses and stabilize families.
  • Develop systemic solutions for working families, especially low-income working families, based in the community through federal and state level policy.
Our efforts will focus on four pillars:
  • Children - Early Learning & After School Care
  • Elder Care/Mature Workforce
  • The Way We Work
  • Family Economic Stability
